Burn Wounds And Scars

Burn Scars – Deformities

Serious burn injury is the most devastating trauma for the human body. There are two factors for determining the extent of burn injury: Depth and surface area of the burn wound. Most common sequela of a burn injury are hypertrophic scars, keloids and contracture deformities. Functional impairments of eyelid, mouth, neck, arm, hand, leg, foot and other parts occur. Treatment of scar related complications targets to reestablish the functional as well as aesthetic integrity. Obvious scars cause aesthetic disturbances. Considerable improvement can be achieved in experienced hands. We have performed many scientifical experimental studies to solve these problems and have developed some methods to achieve an optimal result. Modified tissue expansion techniques and tissue transfers are performed in order to diminish or abolish the scars.
